Stress Management Therapies
Total Relaxation Massage (50, 90, 110minutes)
The long, soothing strokes are applied at just the proper depth for a feeling of Total Relaxation. Muscle tension and mental anxiety melt away. Many strokes are continuous for the entire length of the body. This modified Swedish massage was developed here at CHI and is considered by most as the best all-around massage they've ever had. This massage is performed on the bare skin with a therapeutic lubricant.Swedish Massage (50, 90, 110minutes)
Oil is usually used, which facilitates the stroking and kneading of the body, thereby stimulating metabolism and circulation. The active and passive movements of the joints promote general relaxation, improve circulation and range of motion, and relieve muscle tension. Swedish massage is often given as a complete, full body technique, though sometimes only a part of the body is worked on. Swedish massage is by far the most predominant example of traditional European massage and it is the most commonly used method in the United States.Aroma-therapeutic Massage (50, 90, 110minutes)
This Aromatherapy massage starts with a soothing neck and shoulder massage using one of several essential oils or synergistic blends to balance, relax and revitalize your total being. Later a special aromatherapy blend is applied to your feet with Reflexology pressure points followed by a soothing, relaxing massage to achieve a deep therapeutic effect unlike any you have experienced.
Esalen Massage (50, 90 minutes)
Esalen Massage has become known as the art of “conscious touch”. It uses full, gentle strokes over the entire length of the body and combines this with different massage and bodywork techniques, so that any physical or energetic blockages the client has can be released, leaving them feeling more relaxed and energized.
Esalen focuses on energy exchange and psychological well-being, rather than the simply physical results of a massage. While Esalen massage is beneficial for physical health, the goal of the massage therapist is to tune the mind and body together, resulting in a sense of serenity and peace for the client. Esalen incorporates manyl of the massage techniques used in Swedish massage, but also adds energy work to the session as well. The desired effect is a sense of harmony and balance on the part of the client.
Lomi Lomi Massage (50, 90 minutes)
Lomi Lomi (Hawaiian Massage) is given in fluid, rhythmic motion using the forearms as well as the hands. Some people have described this as feeling like gentle waves moving over the body. Another feature is that different parts of the body may be massaged at the same time, for example one arm or hand may be working on a shoulder and the other hand may be working on the opposite hip. This assists the recipient in totally relaxing as it is impossible or at least extremely difficult for the brain to focus on the two different areas at once. By not working on areas in isolation a deep sense of balance and harmony is achieved.
